Anja Ortelbach

Anja

I was born in 1980 in the GDR near Magdeburg. At the age of 19, I left the provinces for the big, wide world – I went to study in Hamburg and graduated in 2005 with a degree in prehistory and early history. Since then, I have worked as a tour guide for various museums on Lake Constance, in North Rhine-Westphalia and in Lower Saxony. I mostly dealt with the ancient Romans and Germanic tribes. In 2014, I made Berlin my adopted home as I had been spending my holidays here for years. Since then, I have been following my passion to bring the people that visit Berlin closer to the past of this fascinating and breathtaking city.

I am a member of the Berlin Guide Association (BBS).

In addition to working for our own company, I currently work with the following companies and museums, among others:

  • Original Berlin Walks
  • Museum Berlin-Karlshorst

I also have the following licences:

  • Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp Memorial
  • Peacock Island, Berlin
  • Park Glienicke, Berlin
  • Park Sanssouci, Potsdam
  • New Garden, Potsdam
